How to use the PDF Page Reorder

  1. 1

Open a PDF with the Open PDF button or drop it onto the page. Every page appears as a thumbnail.

  2. 2

Drag a page to its new position. To move several, select them first (Shift-click for a range, Ctrl-click for single pages) and drag any of them.

  3. 3

Use the buttons on each page, or R and Delete on the keyboard, to rotate or remove pages. Duplicate copies a page right after itself.

  4. 4

With pages selected, Ctrl plus an arrow key moves them one step. Ctrl+Z undoes any change.

  5. 5

Press Save PDF to download the rearranged document.

Features

  • Drag-and-drop reordering with an insertion marker, for one page or a whole selection
  • Rotate pages 90 degrees left or right, delete pages and duplicate pages
  • Full keyboard control, with arrow keys to move focus and Ctrl plus arrows to move pages
  • Select all, none, odd, even or invert the selection
  • Undo and redo every change, or reset to the original order
  • Pages are copied, not redrawn, so text stays selectable and quality is unchanged
  • Shows each page's original number after it has been moved
  • Runs entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded

Put pages in the right order

Scanned documents rarely come out in the right order. Pages get fed in backwards, an appendix ends up in the middle, or a page is scanned sideways. This tool shows every page as a thumbnail so you can see the whole document at once, drag pages to where they belong, turn the sideways ones upright and remove blanks, then save a clean copy.

Selection works the way it does in a file manager. Click a page to select it, Shift-click to extend the selection to a range, and Ctrl-click to add or remove single pages. Drag any selected page and the whole selection moves together, keeping its internal order. Each page shows its original number once it has moved, so it is easy to check the result against the source.

Keyboard and undo

Everything can be done without a mouse. Arrow keys move between pages, Space selects, Ctrl plus an arrow moves the selection, R rotates and Delete removes. Every action can be undone and redone, so it is safe to experiment, and the original file on your disk is never modified.

To break the document into several files instead, use PDF Split. To merge PDFs or add images as pages, use the PDF Converter, and to export pages as pictures use PDF to Image.

Frequently asked questions

How do I change the order of pages in a PDF?
Open the PDF and drag the page thumbnails into the order you want. A blue marker shows where the page will land. When you are happy with the order, press Save PDF to download the result.
Can I move several pages at once?
Yes. Select them with Shift-click for a continuous range or Ctrl-click (Cmd-click on a Mac) for individual pages, then drag any one of them. The selected pages move together and keep their order. Ctrl plus an arrow key also moves the selection one step at a time.
How do I rotate a page that was scanned sideways?
Hover over the page and press one of the rotate buttons, or select it and press R to turn it clockwise (Shift+R for anticlockwise). The rotation is saved into the PDF, so the page opens the right way up in every viewer.
Does saving reduce the quality of my PDF?
No. Pages are copied into the new file with their original text, fonts and images. Nothing is rasterised or recompressed, so text stays searchable and the file size stays close to the original.
What if I make a mistake?
Every change can be undone with Ctrl+Z and redone with Ctrl+Y, and Reset returns the pages to their original order. Nothing is written until you press Save PDF, and the original file on your device is never changed.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is opened, rearranged and saved inside your browser tab. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.
