How to use the Lorem Ipsum Generator
- 1
Choose what to generate at the top of the tool, paragraphs, sentences, words or list items, and set how many with the box or the slider.
- 2
Pick a flavour. Classic Latin is the traditional filler; startup jargon, plain English and office memo give layouts a more realistic feel.
- 3
Choose plain text, HTML or Markdown output, and tune the words per sentence and sentences per paragraph if your design needs shorter or longer copy.
- 4
Press Generate (or Ctrl+Enter) for new text. The seed under the options reproduces the exact same text later, so you can share it with a teammate.
- 5
Copy the result or download it as a .txt, .html or .md file.

Why designers use filler text
Real copy pulls attention. Show a stakeholder a layout with actual headlines and the discussion turns to the wording instead of the grid, the type scale or the spacing. Filler text that looks like language but carries no meaning keeps the review on the design. That is the job lorem ipsum has done since early typesetters scrambled a passage of Cicero, and it is why the tradition survives in every design tool today.
This generator goes further than the classic paragraphs. You can generate single words for buttons and labels, short list items for navigation and feature lists, or sentences of a chosen length for cards and captions, and shape the output as plain text, HTML or Markdown.
Realistic length matters
Latin words are longer than English ones on average, so a Latin mockup can hide line breaks and overflows that appear the moment real text arrives. The plain English flavour gives more realistic word lengths. Use the length ranges to match the copy you expect: a product card might need sentences of six to ten words, a blog layout paragraphs of five to eight sentences.
Every result comes from a seed. The same seed and options always produce the same text, which keeps screenshots stable and lets a teammate regenerate exactly what you see.
